When we say avocado, what do you think of?

Some delicious fresh toast? A bowl of nachos? A tasty salad?

If a delicious meal was the first place your mind went, you’re in for a special treat – just maybe not the kind you’re thinking of.

Did you know that avocado is actually incredibly nutritious for the skin and effective with helping heal several skin conditions?

That’s because this delicious fruit contains a range of vital minerals such as potassium, iron, calcium, copper magnesium, and other vitamins.

When the avocado craze hit the beauty industry, everyone started making face masks with avocado. The more popular it got, the more different face masks popped up – and a few amazing DIY recipes as well!

In these colder fall and winter days, we all struggle with that dry skin problem. To help with that, we wanted to find the best do-it-yourself avocado-based face mask, so we did some research…

Next time you feel your skin is getting dry, and you want to give it a little revitalizing boost, try this easy-to-do recipe!

Avocado + Honey + Organic yogurt

Recipe:

  1. Take an avocado, remove the seed, and peel the skin.
  2. Squash half of it until the lumps disappear.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon of honey.
  4. Add 1 tablespoon of organic yogurt.
  5. Mix and stir thoroughly until the paste is smooth.

Benefits:

This is an amazing facial mask for restoring essential facial moisture. Both avocado and honey are natural skin moisturizers. With the addition of the lactic acid in yogurt which helps kill bacteria and treat acne, it’s the ultimate tool to fighting dry winter skin! Beauty experts recommend leaving it for 10 to 15 minutes. After that, rinse it off and watch any signs of a dull complexion clear from your skin, giving you a healthy, radiant glow.

Repeat this routine whenever you feel like your skin could use a little pick-me-up, and let us know how you like it!
