Every new season brings spicy new wellness trends, and we never seem to get enough of discovering exciting ways of practicing some good old-fashioned self-care.
During the summer, we were crazy about spending more time in nature and traveling for the first time in a while. We loved all of it, but we’re ready to say goodbye and prepare for the fall.
So, what wellness trends do we consider *cute* this season?
1. Stress management
We’ve had enough stress in the past year so we’re finally starting to prioritize our health. Not only does it badly affect our bodies, but stress also makes us more irritable and can destroy relationships with friends and family.
This fall, we’re taking none of that!
We’re taking time off and relaxing, working out because we want to, not because we feel like we have to, and prioritizing ourselves over others. We can do it!
2. Sustainability
2021 has been a year of coming at peace with the environmental impact of our lives. While we as individuals cannot combat the impact of global corporations, we can still do our part in trying to minimize our waste and changing our habits.
Some of the easiest ways we can practice sustainability in our everyday lives are:
- Bring your reusable bag to the store and avoid using single-use plastic bags
- Carry your own cup and ditch the paper/plastic cups when getting coffee
- Switch to reusable period products like a menstrual cup
- Try using public transportation when possible to reduce carbon emissions
- Ditch single-use bottles and choose a reusable glass bottle
3. Unplugging
Are you spending too much time on your phone? If you said yes, you’re not alone.
Taking just a few hours per day to “detox” from technology can bring immense benefits to your mental health. Spend some time alone or with your friends, turn off the phone and charge your inner battery.
If you’re not sure what to do without your phone, here are a few suggestions:
- Board games are a great way to spend quality time with your family or friends
- Reading a book you like can make you recharge faster than you think since your brain has to work in a different way and imagine.
- Take a walk alone. Sit in the park and read. Grab an ice cream and simply enjoy it. You might be surprised how good you’ll feel afterward.
4. Home workouts
With rainy and cold weather, we get all the excuses we want not to go outside and work out. Whether it’s raining so you cannot go to the gym or it’s just too cold to run outside- we know them all!
Home workouts are a thing we’re doing this fall. No more excuses!
All you need is a good yoga mat and an exercise guide (check out our personalized workout programs) and you’re already one step ahead!
5. Heatless curls
Curling wands might be a thing of the past. Heat damage, frizziness, split ends…the things they have in common are hair styling products.
Ditch the hair straightener and take the belt of your robe. That’s all you need for perfect heatless curls. Clip it to the top of your head using a hair clip and wrap your hair around it, starting from the hair in the front and wrap it outwards.
Try it, you’ll love it!
6. Getting back in the routine
It was great going with the flow of summer, but now it’s time to get back on track.
Fall is an excellent time to reconnect with yourself and reclaim your self-care. But instead of going back into old routines, why not create new ones that will challenge you for the better.
After all, fall is the time of many changes.
7. Hiking
Although hiking is an all-year-round activity, fall has a special allure that makes it the greatest time to go hiking. Crisp air, fall campfires, warm-colored sceneries, and the sounds of leaves rushing through the wind welcome reflection and inspiration before the anxiety of the holiday season kicks in.
8. Face Yoga
The same way we exercise our body, we can exercise our facial muscles.
Face yoga is proven to help minimize the appearance of wrinkles and can lift and firm your face. Taking just 5 to 10 minutes a day can work better than expensive creams that rarely have any visible results.
If you think you don’t have enough time, just remember face yoga can be done while you’re driving, chilling at home, or shopping (good thing we have masks!).
9. Pumpkin spice everything
Would it be fall if we didn’t add Pumpkin Spice to the list?
Believe it or not, apart from being delicious, the pumpkin spice blend offers a variety of benefits that uplift overall energy and mood. As you transition into the season with a warm PC latte, why not take your pumpkin spice craze to the next level!
10. Mental health awareness
The past year taught us about the importance of mental health and taking a break when we need it.
Don’t feel ashamed to feel low or need some extra assistance to manage your mental health. Today, we’re lucky to have support available from so many different sides that we can calmly ask for help.
Just like you’d go to the doctor if you had a stomach ache that lasted for long, visit a professional if your mind is not in a right place. And remember, you’re not alone in this!
