Roe v. Wade was overturned and now has us all wondering, what’s next? We don’t have the answers, but we can tell you what changes to expect in your Bellabeat app and how we’re working to protect your privacy.
With that in mind, we’re enhancing our security as a stance against the oppression of women’s reproductive rights.
Bellabeat stands in solidarity with women’s rights and we’re taking action to ensure that every woman in our community is protected.
We won’t just make empty promises to protect your data, we’re making actual changes.
Since our launch, your data has been and still is safe on our servers which are protected with extensive safety protocols and an internal security team that does regular check-ups and revisions. We have never had a data leak and have never shared or sold your data to third parties. But we’ve realized all this effort and our commitment to safekeeping data just isn’t enough when women’s rights are being compromised. That’s why we’re strengthening our mobile app security system with
Private Key Encryption (PKE), a technology that irreversibly encrypts user data, making it only accessible through a personal password.
At your request, Bellabeat will implement PKE technology and encrypt all of your reproductive health data stored in the app.
You’ll be prompted to create a private 8-character password.
Bellabeat also offers the option to completely wipe your data through a 24-hour irreversible wiping process.
